Mission Statement
The Mantorville Restoration Association was founded in October 1963. The general purpose of this community service and preservation group is:
To investigate and study the history of the village of Mantorville;
To provide for the collection, preservation, and dissemination of this history;
To provide for the collection and preservation or display of papers, books, relics, records and other articles of historic interest;
To provide for the marking, preservation and restoration of historic sites and buildings in and around Mantorville.
At present, the Mantorville Restoration Association (MRA) owns and maintains these historic properties in Mantorville:
Restoration House Main Street & 6th Street (Guided tours May through October)
Cooper’s Log House Behind the Restoration House
Normal School Clay Street & 8th Street
Greek Revival House Clay Street & 4th Street
Carriage House Behind the Greek Revival House
Opera House 5th Street & Clay Street
MRA is a 501c3 non-profit group.
Additionally, the MRA works with City of Mantorville, its citizens and council to maintain the period correctness of its central registered historic district.
